Total Controls Overview

Total Controls Inc. (TCI) was founded in 1995, and is an industrial controls system integrator and panel manufacturer defined by our commitment to excellence, and to the success of our customers. Our staff has substantial hands-on experience in developing and commissioning control systems in a wide variety of industries.

TCI specializes in batch, process control and materials handling applications. Our intuitive Batch Recipe Manager (BRM) systems incorporate advanced and custom recipe formulation capabilities, order of addition editing, parallel processing capabilities, batch status / tracking information to the desktop, comprehensive reporting features, and optional connections to customer’s MES / ERP systems like SAP and Oracle. We have several batch customers that we have worked with for well over 10 years that have come to rely on TCI to guide the evolution and migration of their process control systems, assist in quality control / integration of equipment vendor control packages, and create management level database and reporting systems.

The staff at Total Controls works closely with our customers to implement systems that meet current objectives, while taking into account the expertise required to maintain the system, future expansion, and interface to other reporting and management tools.

We are enrolled in the solutions provider programs with Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) and Wonderware. Our expertise is primarily in the application of Allen-Bradley PLC based control systems. The majority of our projects have been batch control systems utilizing our core BRM engine. We have systems in a variety of chemical processes, pulp and paper, paints / coatings, sealant / caulking, light weight concrete (man-made stone), and many others. We are located in Matthews NC and have 4,000 square feet of office and panel fabrication area.
